Dear Fellow Alumni, Family and Friends,
As you may have heard, Chennai has been hit with a devastating cyclone and rain for about a month now, and the resulting damages and disruption to regular life and property have been enormous, possibly even worse than the Katrina disaster of a few years ago, in terms of numbers of people affected. Horrific tales of suffering by residents on all fronts – loss of homes, life, dangers to health, infrastructure - power, communications, transport, sanitation, personal assets, etc, are emerging everyday on news, social media, and personal communications with residents.
We have to help in the most generous, humble and humanitarian way. Click here to donate.
IITMAANA, as an IRS certified 501c(3) charity, non-profit organization is launching an emergency fundraising campaign through its website www.iitmaana.org to collect funds for the relief of the victims in flood ravaged areas of Chennai and nearby cities and villages in Tamilnadu. Your donations are tax-deductible, and you will receive a tax-deductible from IITMAANA for tax purposes.
IITMAANA will make sure that the funds go to the right people in need of immediate assistance, in the most sincere, honest, humanitarian way.
On the ground in Chennai, we will work with local secular and non-political groups, who already have an established record of having performed similar humanitarian work during the Tsunami disaster a few years ago. We will diligently ensure that your funds are disbursed to help flood victims with sincerity, honesty and in a most efficient way. We will advise you of the progress of our campaign through our website.
Please donate generously and confidently, and feel free to pass this information to your friends.
