Project: IIT Madras ECE Control Lab Experiments using Lego Mindstorm EV 3 kits

The Objective of this project is to equip the ECE Lab at IITM with 30 Lego Mindstorm EV 3 kits to conduct an interactive Control Systems lab course for 160 undergraduate students and 40 MTech students.

What your donation Buys? These 30 kits will cost approx. $17,000 -- and this after a 50% discount. If 34 alumni donate $500 each we can achieve our goal. But of course alumni can contribute any amount they are comfortable with.  We can aggregate all donations to make the target goal of $17,000.

What can it do for the Students? Profs can devise experiments that give students the freedom to be creative, working interactively on lab assignments with their hands, rather than watch an instructor demo the experiment. It allows for easy evaluation of the students.

Ahah–hah! Such laboratory modules are necessary to make a student understand the gap between “theory and implementation”, and present them “Ahah–hah” moments that comes with the validation of “theory” with practice, and seeing control concepts being used in practice.
