The Director and Dean will share with us many of the exciting developments taking place at IIT Madras.  Many of you are no doubt aware that IITM of the 21st century is following a full-fledged international research university model, with a larger graduate research program than its historically successful undergraduate program.  IITM has filed more patents and generated more revenue in industrial consultancy than any other university in India.  IITM's innovation eco-system is thriving.  The future looks even brighter, with several alumni funding endowed chairs, innovation centers and start-ups. It's no surprise that IIT-M was ranked #1 among engineering institutions in both 2016 and 2017 in the Government of India surveys.
