Dear Alumni,

On Behalf of IIT MAANA, we are pleased to invite you to a meeting that launches the Boston chapter of IIT MAANA on December 2nd from 3:00-6:00 PM in room 32-155 of the Stata Center at MIT.

As many of you know,there are numerous IIT Madras alumni in the Boston area who are involved in the thriving technology and education ecosystems; many of whom are highly accomplished with distinguished careers. For those of you who were at the Pan IIT conference in Rhode Island last year, IITM alumni played a major role in it's success. We also have hosted the Director and Dean of IIT Madras, and assisted students from campus who visit Boston this year.

In addition, IIT Madras has started the IIT Madras Foundation this year, whose goal is to raise a significant endowment to build IIT Madras into a world class research institution as part of the Strategic Plan created by Director Bhaskar Ramamurthi. Boston alumni need to be part of this critical effort.

For the past 10-20 years, Dilip Subramanyam has tirelessly led, supported and organized alumni meetings and hosted delegations from IIT Madras. Dilip has been great, but he has significant professional committments at this point. Hence a number of us felt that the rest of us have to step up bring the Boston IIT Madras alumni community together, work closely with the IIT Madras Foundation and Institute itself.

The agenda for this meeting will be:

3:00 – 3:30 Meet and Greet

3:30 – 4:00 IIT MAANA Presentation, Mr. Saagar Pushpala, President/ Mr. Andiappan Bala, Secretary, IIT MAANA

4:00 – 4:30 IIT Madras Foundation, Dr. S. Subbiah and Ms. Rekha Ranganathan

4:30 – 5:00 IIT MAANA Boston Chapter Launch: Goals and Objectives, Advisory Board

5:00 – 6:00 Open Discussion/Networking

Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
