The Cause

In December 2015, residents of Chennai and surrounding villages were hammered by severe cyclonic rainstorms that resulted in massive flooding in many parts of the city and surrounding areas. There was widespread loss of life and property, with tens of thousands of families losing their homes and their belongings. While the city continues to limp back towards normalcy, the citizens of Chennai are still struggling to put their lives back together. In many areas entire homes need to be reconstructed and steps need to be taken to ensure that people have healthy living conditions.
